First Horizon FD 85 superyacht launched

The first hull in the Horizon FD 85 series has been launched and is ready for delivery to her new owner, the Taiwan-based yard has confirmed.
Measuring 25.99 metres LOA, this new all-GRP model from Horizon Yachts features interior and exterior design by Dutch design studio Cor D. Rover.
The FD 85 is the first model in Horizon Yachts’ new fast displacement range and features a broad 7.07 metre beam, resulting in 25% more internal volume than most yachts in this class.
Accommodation is for ten guests split across a main-deck master stateroom, two double cabins and a further two twin rooms, all of which are en-suite. The crew quarters are located in a separate area just forward of the engine room, allowing accommodation for a staff of up to three.
Hull number one features floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the main saloon and formal dining room to maximise the amount of natural light in this area. The flybridge is reached by a pair of external staircases, giving access to the upper deck superyacht spa pool and raised pilothouse.
Tender storage is via the aft bathing platform, and there is also a davit crane on the upper deck for storing a Jetski or other superyacht water toys.
Power comes from a pair of Caterpillar C18 engines for a total output of 2,272hp and a top speed of 16 knots. However, when trimmed back to ten knots, the Horizon FD85 will have a maximum cruising range of 1,670 nautical miles, thanks to a total fuel capacity of 10,200 litres.
In a statement, Cor D. Rover added that plans for a smaller sister model called the Horizon FD65 are already under development.
